Look a likeys !

For this post I am going to talk about something I love and have gotten into collecting again more lately and that is nail polish.More importantly that in my opinion up to a point, nail polish is nail polish! It doesn't matter how much it costs and what fancy packaging it is in or how it is promoted,if you are hard on your nails or just an average lady who does a usual routine, your polish is going to wear and chip quite quickly. That said there can be a slight difference in longevity but it is slight.I cannot talk from experience of using a lot of high end polishes because I don't justify spending that much on a polish but I do own afew Nails Inc polishes.I find the Nails Inc polishes to be nice, they go on well but I wouldn't say they last any longer than a Barry M nail paint or a W7 polish, both of which are considerably cheaper.Talking of Barry M that brings me to the picture that goes with this post and the main idea of this post also!

I was doing a nail design the other day(studded nails which will be shown on my youtube channel) and I knew what base colour I wanted to use but then I had the decision of which one as I own two similar shades of the Taupe,Barry M and Nails Inc.I plumped for the Barry M one, which I think I slightly prefer. It is the darker one out of the two but a very good dupe and around £8 cheaper.(I got my Nails Inc ones for free however, mainly with Glamour magazine) However we are all different and have different tastes so some may find they enjoy the higher brands but some may find they don't want to purchase those so they can build up a colour collection quicker or just don't have the budget.Whatever it is cheaper polishes are definitely worth a look (Although higher priced ones are available at the £ shop if you wanted to give one a go,check out my previous blog post!) I am sure whatever latest Chanel or Mac polish you have seen adorning a model on there ad campaign can be obtained near enough in another brand, there are so many colours out there so surely something will come close!

P.S the Barry M polish shown is in the shade Mushroom.

JML Beauty Trimmer.....is it any good?

Well the answer to that question is......drum roll.....Yes it is quite good!

This retails at £9.99 and you will find it in the current JML selections stocked in a variety of stores or on there website. This didn't actually cost me anything as I brought it from where I work and employees get vouchers as a Thank you every year to spend in the store so this was on them! JML is the maker of the products that are usually set up in store with the video demonstrations playing. It comes in Pink for the ladies but they do sell one along side it designed for Men which is Black and Green. It comes complete with a battery, pouch, cleaning brush and a little attachment to help shape your eyebrows. It is quite small in design and as shown could be carried in your handbag,I doubt how much you would use a hair trimmer on the go,but anyway you can! When I say a trimmer I mean it is just for a quick trim on small amounts of hair( it's not to be used to do the legs when they are in need of a good shave) ! To tidy up the eyebrows, the bikini line, stray hairs on the toes or facial hair etc....it's fine.

It's performance is quite good really for a small machine. It does give off some noise but all electric razors do.The main part for me and what tends to put me off from changing from disposable razors to electric is sometimes I can feel them nipping my skin. This however does feel smooth which is a real plus.I noticed the hair is not removed completely,it is more of a close shave so that is why it is for fine stray hairs rather than a full leg shave. Therefore you will have to use it quite regularly but as it's easy to do I don't see a problem. It works quickly also. The eyebrow shaper is good too, just removes alittle, which is what you want.I was alittle hesitant with this as I had visions of it taking too much off and leaving me with hardly any brow lol !!!!

All in all a neat little item that I would recommend, thumbs up for JML !

Meeting Katie Price !

Today we had a fantastic time meeting Miss Katie Price at her signing for her magazine Katie in Leicester. The magazine retails at £3.99 and is an exclusive publication to W H Smith. At present there has only been one edition and there is no indication of more but as she famously says "Never underestimate the Pricey!" I am sure there could be a follow up edition to the mag or just another edition to the Katie Price empire very soon. You name it she has achieved it and good on her too!!!!! She has her fair share of haters and probably more than most unfortunately due to a very public lifestyle. However I have still remained a fan of hers for years.I will be honest and say some of her decisions are not for me but that's life and we are all different, who are we to judge? Leave her alone I say,if you don't like her don't comment,I don't comment about celebrities I don't like, what's the point?

Me and my Husband spent around two hours at the signing.Luckily it was in a section of the food court at the shopping centre so along the line for most part were chairs to sit on.There were a fair few hundred fans there and I don't think anyone disliked waiting and I'm sure, like we did, had a great time meeting her face to face. She looked and sounded the same in real life (Very pretty!) and was very polite and spoke a few words to us.She personalised the magazines and also signed copies of her books for those who wanted too.The local paper came down also so will have to pick up a copy of that on Monday, maybe we will be it! All in all it was a fantastic afternoon....Thank you Katie!

Grab famous brand Make up for a fraction of the price......£1 to be precise!!!!!!

I am starting off my blog with a subject that is close to my heart......bargain hunting! Who doesn't like getting a bargain and who wouldn't want to get one frankly? I think it definitely gives you a buzz of excitement thinking "Ooh that costs lots more in other shops I'm gonna get one of those, forget that I'm getting THREE! "

One of the best places to snag one of those bargains is one of the many £ shops or shops of similar effect like the 99p store.More and more of the popular higher end of drugstore makeup brands are creeping in as of late, examples being Maybellene and Rimmel and also some brands that are rarely seen in the U.k like Cover girl,Wet n Wild and LA colours art deco nail art pens.

"Why do they sell it so cheap?" " I don't want any cheap tacky makeup from in there!" " It's gone off, yuck!" Those may be some of the statements sceptics may say.But let me tell you.... it is FINE! Of course I don't have any scientific evidence but you can tell I'm sure when makeup has gone off and I have never had anything which has.

The main reason I believe as to why these shops have gotten a hold of this makeup is due to it being end of line stock which may include discontinued shades or have been removed due to a change of packaging maybe. It doesn't mean it's been lying around for years at all, in fact it could be quite recently manufactured as the shops sell a lot of well know brand everyday items such as toothpaste, cleaning products etc...that are stocked as current lines in the top supermarkets.

The Lipsticks I Purchased are currently sold in afew different stores and range anywhere from £4-£6 roughly. The shades seem to have been discontinued from what I have seen but what does that matter,if you find a shade you like in the £ shop that's great,it's the same as picking a shade from the current collection.Obvisously buying from the £ shops the stock does change so it won't be as easy to re-purchase.This is not a problem as you can always find something similar or you get the opportunity to change it up alittle at these prices and maybe try a more daring colour! You  can also find great deal like two or three products in a bag for £1,I managed to get one of these packs last week, two Vinyl Jelly gloss lip liners! They are great and happen to match the lipsticks I got the other day brilliantly too!

So next time you are going by a £ or 99p store go and have a look. You can find everything from Lipsticks,Lip liners,Eye shadows to Concealers and Foundation.Remember at the end of the day alot of  products be it high end or lower are made the same and can be made in the same factory even.Mark up made by the Retailer can determine alot of the prices. It can be shocking though at times when you think the £ stores still make a profit on these items!

Pictures are below of all the items I have purchased recently including lipstick and liner swatches. These products could have potentially cost me around 4 times more collectivly so a great saving I am sure you will agree. To see what items I get like these, go over to my youtube channel which you will find a link to on the right hand side and take a look at my extreme couponing videos. These vids show you any offers I find using coupons or samples I receive through the post for free or just great deals in the shops. The offers are out there if you look!
